Indonesia Research and Innovation Fair 2024 (IRIFair) is a platform for exploration, exhibition and competition for Indonesia's young research and innovation talents. IRIFair explores potential, enhances creativity, and gives appreciation to young talents in the field of research and innovation. This year, IRIFair again explores the potential of Indonesia's leading young innovation research talents through three competitions namely Scholar Research Competition (SRC), Research Poster Competition (RPC) and 3-Minute Research Pitch Competition (3MR).
Jakarta, August 10, 2024. The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), through its Deputy for Human Resources in Science and Technology, organised IRIFair, a forum for finding superior research and innovation talents based on competition and appreciation. IRIFair is part of BRIN's commitment and efforts to increase the capacity of Indonesian human resources through the Talent Management program
BRIN's Deputy for Science and Technology Human Resources Edy Giri Rachman Putra said IRIFair is a scientific competition for student-level final project research. "This competition is one of the implementation of the mission of scouting and fostering innovation research talents in a comprehensive, sustainable and innovative manner," he explained.
Edy explained that IRIFair is a forum for exploration, exhibition and competition of research and innovation at the higher education level. "IRIFair is one of the starting points to find talents in the field of research and innovation that can be assisted to continue the focus of research into superior talents in the field of research and innovation," he said.
Through IRIFair, Edy explained, BRIN facilitates talent seeds to become potential talents in the field of research and innovation. "BRIN gives appreciation to research and innovation talents who have potential in the field of research and innovation. Through this event, BRIN forms a research and innovation community among students, thus encouraging the creation of a good research ecosystem," he explained.
For information, there are 4 clusters of science fields that are competed, namely Technology and Engineering Sciences which include the topics of Nuclear Power, Energy and Manufacturing, Electronics and Informatics, and Nanotechnology and Materials. The Earth, Space, and Marine Sciences cluster consists of Aviation and Space and Earth and Maritime topics. The third cluster is Life and Nature Sciences, which includes Health, Life and Environment, and Agriculture and Food. Fourth, the Social Sciences and Humanities cluster includes the topics of Social Sciences and Humanities, Archaeology, Language, and Literature, as well as Governance, Economy, and Public Welfare.
Based on the data, this year's Social Sciences and Humanities cluster is quite dominating. Approximately 17 provinces participated in IRIFair, with the highest number of finalists coming from West Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta. IRIFair was also attended by participants from Chiba University, Japan.
